Privacy policy

This explains what Census Studio (run by Location3x / Geospatial Training Services) collects about you, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we keep the minimum needed to run your account, we do not sell or share it, there is no advertising and no tracking across other sites, and your card details never touch our servers.

What we collect and why

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. You enter your card on Stripe's pages; we receive only a confirmation, the amount, and a customer reference. We never see or store card numbers.

Cookies

One cookie, to keep you signed in. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking. Because of that there is no cookie banner.

Email

The service sends mail only when you ask for something (password reset) or when we need to tell you about your account. Newsletters from Location3x are a separate list with its own unsubscribe link; signing up for Census Studio does not add you to it.

Who else sees data

• U.S. Census Bureau: the service requests public data from the Bureau's API on your behalf. Your uploads are never sent there; the request carries only geography and variable selections (and your own API key if you added one).
• Stripe: payments, as above.
• Resend: delivers the service's transactional email.
• Hetzner: hosts the servers. Data is stored on our own server there, with nightly backups kept for 14 days on the server and longer on a separate storage box, so a deleted account can persist in backups for a while before it ages out.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with anyone else, except if the law requires it.

Your choices

• Delete uploads yourself at any time in "My data"; results expire on their own after 30 days.
• Remove your Census API key at any time in the account panel.
• To see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account entirely, email location3x.gis@gmail.com. Deletion removes the account, its uploads and results; purchase records are kept as long as accounting rules require.

Children

The service is for professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly keep accounts for them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app or by email before it takes effect. The effective date at the top is the current version.
